 The cyber-security firm that identified the large-scale hacking of US government agencies says it "genuinely impacted" around 50 organisations. Kevin Mandia, CEO of FireEye, said that while some 18,000 organisations had the malicious code in their networks, it was the 50 who suffered major breaches. The US Treasury and departments of homeland security, state and defence are known to have been targeted. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has blamed Russia for the hack. So too have the chairs of the Senate and House of Representatives' intelligence committees. A sanitation worker became the first Indian to receive a Covid vaccine as the country began the world's largest inoculation drive.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the programme, which aims to vaccinate more than 1.3 billion people against Covid. He paid tribute to front-line workers who will be the first to receive jabs.  India has recorded the second-highest number of Covid-19 infections in the world after the United States.  Millions of doses of two approved vaccines - Covishield and Covaxin - were shipped across the country in the days leading up to the start of the drive.  "We are launching the world's biggest vaccination drive and it shows the world our capability," Mr Modi, said, addressing the country on Saturday morning.  He added that India was well prepared to vaccinate its population with the help of an app, which would help the government track the drive and ensure that nobody was left out. The cases are already beginning to emerge. When 85-year-old Colin Horseman was admitted to Doncaster Royal Infirmary in late December, it was for a suspected kidney infection. But not long afterwards he caught Covid-19 – at the time, roughly  one in four people in hospital  with the virus had acquired it there.  US president-elect Joe Biden has been given his new official presidential Twitter account, but has been forced to start it with zero followers. The Biden campaign is unhappy with the move, which marks a change from the previous transition from Barack Obama. The new account, @PresElectBiden, will transform into the official @POTUS (President of the United States) one on inauguration day on 20 January. In its first six hours online it gained nearly 400,000 followers. Mr Biden's own account has 24 million followers. His team has also registered new accounts - @FLOTUSBiden for the future first lady, Jill Biden, and for the first time, @SecondGentleman, for Ms Harris's husband Doug Emhoff.   What is happening actually?   WhatsApp is forcing users to agree to sharing information with Facebook if they want to keep using the service. The company warns users in a pop-up notice that they "need to accept these updates to continue using WhatsApp" - or delete their accounts.  But Facebook, which owns WhatsApp, said European and UK users would not see the same data-sharing changes, although they will need to accept new terms. The exception has been welcomed by some as a victory for EU privacy regulators. The deadline in both regions to accept the change is 8 February, after which "you'll need to accept these updates to continue using WhatsApp", the company said in the pop-up alert to users. A section of the international privacy policy has been removed, which previously let people opt out of sharing personal information with Facebook for the first 30 days after the changes went live.   Messaging platform Signal said on Friday it was experiencing "technical difficulties" as it worked to accommodate millions of new users. Some users reported messages failing to send on both the mobile and desktop apps for several hours. The company has seen a huge uptick in interest since its rival WhatsApp unveiled new privacy terms last week. On Twitter, Signal said it had added servers "at a record pace" and was working to restore service.  "Millions upon millions of new users are sending a message that privacy matters," it said in a tweet. Both Signal and Telegram, another free-to-use encrypted messaging app, have benefited from discontent sparked by WhatsApp'sw updated terms and conditions. WhatsApp told its two billion users they must allow it to share data with its parent company Facebook if they wished to continue using it. This does not apply to users in the UK and Europe - but the notification was sent to everyone.  

Based on true story    A couple of days ago here in USA I happened to meet a Pakistani-American girl. She was roughly 10 years old and was born and bred in USA. It was an extremely interesting conversation with a confident and intelligent kid who had visited Pakistan only once in her lifetime. During the course of conversation, I asked the kid about her views to shift back to Pakistan to which she straightforwardly gave an expected negative reply. I asked the reason to which she gave a strange reply that she won't shift to Pakistan because India will attack Pakistan and will destroy it. Surprised on getting such an unexpected answer, I further probed her as to why she thought that such an incident would happen. Her reply was rather shocking for me when she referred to some Indian movie that she had watched, which revolved around the story of an Indian attack on Pakistan. Pakistan ranks as sixth in global gender difference  index  and  being the most dangerous country for women with the increased number of cases of sexual crimes and domestic violence issues. Patriarchal attitude is mostly responsible for this. Unfortunately rape allegations are not taken seriously our country and sometime even we blame the victim for such acts to gain political motive. People think it as a  money making  concern.   Victims experience stigmatization in their life especially the female victims face stigmatization in patrilineal rituals with strong culture and taboos regarding sex and sexual life. Victim is isolated from the society and even prohibited from marrying too. UNICEF and International alert released a report about the children released by Nigeria’s insurgency group Boko Haram often face rejection by their own families and the children born of sexual violence are not even considered children and are becoming a matter of discrimination for their own parents .
